Event details
Melbourne-based oboist, Jasper Ly is a dynamic and vibrant performer. His captivating energy enables the oboe to shine – an instrument of wonderful versatility and tonal personality that is rarely placed centre stage.
Joined by Peter Dumsday on piano, Jasper performs contemporary works that are rich with images and ideas inspired by Australia. Featuring pieces by Peter Sculthorpe, Stuart Greenbaum, Andrew Schultz and a new commission by Zinia Chan; the duo explores the natural landscape of this country, the tranquillity of the deep sea, the marvellousness of a modern metropolis and the human imperative to travel to outer space.
